Timetabling – Cityswift import enhancements
Users of the Cityswift Evolve module are able to use running time analysis to produce complete timetables. The new feature in our Timetabling application will enable users to import this timetable and update all existing trips.
When the timetable updates in Timetabling, the new running times and time bands are also learnt, overwriting any previously saved.
This process only updates timing points. Therefore, any existing stop times are lost during this process. Stop times can be updated either by saving the timetable in Mapping (formerly known as OmniMAP) or using the “Estimate Missing BS Times on Selection” function in the Intermediate Times window in Timetabling.
The timetable update process is predicated on the Cityswift timetable data having originated from Timetabling in the first place. It is not for designing new timetables, it is for updating existing ones. Timetable data is usually passed to Cityswift via TxC or GTFS export. Therefore, the timetable produced in Evolve is based on the original input data and is expected to match back to the source data in the update process.
